About us

MentoringWorks is a the new name of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hastings. We are a non-profit mentoring agency based in Hastings, Nebraska. We are passionate about mentoring and providing opportunities for volunteers and young people to connect and build relationships that are mutually rewarding.

When asked how he thinks he has changed since having a mentor he responded: "I keep my hands and feet to myself and stopped talking so much in class".
3rd Grade Mentee
When asked how he thinks he has changed since having a mentor, he responded that he does not get as angry on the days he knows his mentor is coming. Instead of getting angry he said, "I just let it go".
5th Grade Mentee
When asked if their child is excited to see her mentor, stated that her child "only wants to go to school the days her mentor will be there".

Our History - Beginning

  • 1957 - Formed as Big Brothers
  • 1960 - Became an affiliate of a national Big Brothers association
  • 1978 - Joined with Big Sisters
  • 2018 - Disaffiliated from the national BBBS organization to become MentoringWorks!
